Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is expected to rejoin practice on Monday after missing the first two weeks of training camp with an aggravated disc in his back, head coach Sean McVay told reporters over the weekend. McVay said the 37-year-old threw more than 60 passes during a Saturday workout with no restrictions on deep, intermediate or short throws and “felt really good” afterward. The session convinced the coaching staff that Stafford can safely progress to individual drills. Stafford received an epidural earlier in the week to relieve pain from the injury, according to multiple reports. The team remains optimistic he will be available for its Week 1 opener. The veteran is entering the first season of a two-year, $84 million restructured extension signed this offseason.
