Russian Aviation Agency: Lifting of restrictions on air traffic at Izhevsk and Ivanovo airports

On July 4 and 5, 2025, the Russian Federal Aviation Agency imposed temporary flight restrictions at multiple Russian airports including Saratov, Samara, Yaroslavl, Izhevsk, Kaluga, Tambov, Nizhny Novgorod, and Pulkovo. These measures were taken amid heightened security concerns related to ongoing military tensions. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian forces conducted a series of successful strikes on July 4 against military targets in Kyiv using high-precision long-range weapons. The targeted sites included drone and military equipment production facilities, a military airfield, and an oil refinery. Following the strikes, the aviation agency temporarily suspended air traffic at Yegoryevsk and Ivanovo airports due to anticipated Ukrainian drone threats but lifted these restrictions by the morning of July 5. The Russian Defense Ministry also confirmed targeting infrastructure related to military airports, fuel depots, and Ukrainian drone assembly workshops as part of their operations.
