Aston Villa has completed the signing of Ivorian forward Evann Guessand from OGC Nice for a package worth €35 million, bonuses included. The 24-year-old agreed a five-year contract running to June 2030 after scoring 12 goals and providing nine assists in Ligue 1 last season. The deal is the second-highest sale in Nice’s history and ends Villa’s search for a replacement for Jhon Duran, whom the club had tried to cover in January. Elsewhere in the Premier League, Nottingham Forest is in advanced talks with Manchester City over midfielder James McAtee. The clubs are finalising a transfer valued at just over £20 million, and the 21-year-old has already settled personal terms, preferring Forest despite rival interest. Agreement is expected shortly, according to people familiar with the negotiations. In a separate development, Nantes forward Matthis Abline has rejected an approach from Wolverhampton Wanderers. While the 22-year-old remains keen to leave the Ligue 1 side, he is unconvinced by the Wolves project, leaving his future open as the summer window enters its final weeks.
