Everton have reached agreement with Manchester City to take England winger Jack Grealish on a season-long loan, with the 29-year-old due to complete a medical in Liverpool on Monday, 11 August. The move ends Grealish’s four-year spell under Pep Guardiola, during which he fell down the pecking order and started only seven Premier League games last season. Documents exchanged between the clubs include a non-mandatory purchase option worth about £50 million (€58 million), according to people familiar with the negotiations. The Times reports that Everton will commit at least £12 million toward the deal as City seek relief on Grealish’s £300,000-a-week wages. Grealish joined City from Aston Villa in 2021 for a then-British-record £117.5 million and helped the club win the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup in 2023. He now links up with David Moyes at Everton, where regular playing time could revive his prospects of returning to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
