AS Monaco has extended Danish striker Mika Biereth’s contract by five years, keeping the 22-year-old at the Principality club until June 2030. The deal, announced on 17 July, follows the forward’s breakout campaign and gives Monaco long-term security ahead of next season’s return to the UEFA Champions League. Biereth joined Monaco from Sturm Graz in January for a reported €13 million plus €2 million in potential add-ons. He quickly became integral to Adi Hütter’s side, scoring 13 goals and providing two assists in just 16 Ligue 1 appearances in 2024-25. The London-born Dane set several benchmarks during the run, including the fastest climb to 10 Ligue 1 goals since the 1947-48 season and three separate hat-tricks—two of them coming in consecutive home fixtures. Monaco said the extension rewards his contribution and reflects the club’s strategy of locking in emerging talent on long-term deals.
