Paris Saint-Germain has strengthened its back line by completing the signing of Ukraine international Illia Zabarnyi from English Premier League side AFC Bournemouth. The French champions will pay an initial €63 million plus a further €3 million in performance-related add-ons, valuing the deal at €66 million. Zabarnyi, 22, agreed a contract that runs until June 2030. The centre-back arrives after two seasons in England and 47 senior caps for Ukraine, becoming the first Ukrainian to play for PSG. His arrival follows last week’s acquisition of goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier and comes three days before the Ligue 1 season kicks off and on the eve of the club’s European Super Cup meeting with Tottenham Hotspur. The move is expected to bolster manager Luis Enrique’s options after the summer departure of Milan Škriniar to Fenerbahçe.
