Walt Disney Co. said it is “fully integrating” Hulu into Disney+, consolidating the two services on a single technology platform. A unified Disney+ and Hulu app is scheduled to debut in 2026, following incremental integration work that already lets U.S. customers view Hulu content within Disney+. Internationally, Hulu will replace the Star general-entertainment tile on Disney+ beginning in the fall of 2025, marking Hulu’s first major expansion outside the United States. Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger and Chief Financial Officer Hugh Johnston told investors the move will broaden content choice, reduce customer churn and unlock new advertising and bundling opportunities. Disney gained full control of Hulu in June after completing a roughly $9 billion buy-out of Comcast’s one-third stake, a price set through arbitration. Management said combining the services should generate cost efficiencies and improve profit margins; they also announced Disney will stop breaking out individual subscriber numbers for Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+, mirroring Netflix’s reporting shift.
