Microsoft has officially launched GPT-5 integration across its entire Copilot ecosystem, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Azure AI Foundry, and consumer Copilot applications. The rollout introduces a new Smart Mode powered by GPT-5, enhancing capabilities in reasoning, coding assistance, document analysis, and context-aware chat responses. This update is available to both free and paid users, marking a broad deployment of OpenAI's latest model within Microsoft's AI-powered tools. GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke noted that developers are increasingly adopting AI tools in their workflows, with expectations that AI will generate up to 90% of their code in the coming years.
