United Launch Alliance (ULA) successfully launched the second batch of Amazon's Project Kuiper broadband satellites on June 23, 2025. The Atlas V 551 rocket lifted off from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 6:54 a.m. EDT, carrying 27 satellites to low Earth orbit. This mission, known as Kuiper 2, is part of a planned 46-launch campaign to deploy Amazon's global broadband internet constellation. Prior to the launch, the rocket was rolled out to the pad and underwent countdown procedures with an 80 percent favorable weather forecast. Following this, SpaceX conducted multiple Falcon 9 launches, including the deployment of 24 Amazon Project Kuiper satellites on July 16, 2025, at 2:30 a.m. ET from Cape Canaveral, marking the KF-01 mission. SpaceX also launched various other missions such as the EUMETSAT MTG-S1 weather satellite on July 1, 2025, and the SES O3b mPOWER communications satellites from Cape Canaveral in late July. These launches demonstrate ongoing efforts by Amazon and other companies to expand satellite broadband and communications infrastructure using multiple launch providers.
