Peruvian newcomer Ignacio Buse reached his first ATP Tour quarter-final on Wednesday, rallying past Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak 1-6, 7-5, 6-1 at the Swiss Open in Gstaad. The 20-year-old recovered from a shaky opening set, breaking Majchrzak twice in the decider to secure only the second tour-level victory of his career. Argentina’s Burruchaga followed him into the last eight with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 win over Czech lucky-loser Jakub Zahraj, also marking the 22-year-old’s maiden appearance in an ATP quarter-final. The two first-time quarter-finalists will meet next as the clay-court event continues.
