Rublev rolls 💪 @AndreyRublev97 defeats Hernandez 6-3 6-2 to reach his 80th career quarter-final! #LosCabosTennisOpen https://t.co/4RkELwaYvj
Andrey Rublev easily beats Alex Hernandez 6-3, 6-2 to reach the 80th (!) QFs of his career in Los Cabos. He is the top seed and the only top 10 player playing any tournament this week.
World No. 10 Andrey Rublev advanced to the quarter-finals of the ATP 250 Abierto de Tenis de Los Cabos with a 6–3, 6–2 victory over Mexican wildcard Alejandro Hernández late Wednesday. The straight-sets win secures the Russian’s 80th career tour-level quarter-final—an elite milestone reached at age 27—and maintains his status as top seed and the only top-10 player competing on the ATP Tour this week. Hernández, ranked outside the top 400, had been part of a historic Mexican showing in Los Cabos after he and compatriot Luis Carlos Álvarez became the first duo from the host nation to reach the tournament’s round of 16. Rublev ended that run in 72 minutes, breaking serve four times while never facing a break point himself. Rublev will meet the winner of Aleksandar Kovacevic and Luis Carlos Álvarez for a place in the semi-finals as he continues his build-up to the North American hard-court swing.
