Canada’s Denis Shapovalov needed just 59 minutes to dispatch American qualifier Govind Nanda 6–1, 6–2 and reach the quarter-finals of the Mifel Tennis Open in Los Cabos on Wednesday night. The victory sends the former world No. 10 to his 43rd career tour-level quarter-final and his first in Los Cabos. Shapovalov said the conditions in the Baja California resort are “much quicker than Acapulco” and that he prefers the tournament’s faster court and different balls. Shapovalov will face the winner of the match between [next opponents not yet determined at time of match] as he continues his bid for a first ATP title since 2022.
