Belgium’s Elise Mertens and Russia’s Veronika Kudermetova captured the 2025 Wimbledon women’s doubles crown on Sunday, defeating Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko and Taiwan’s Su-Wei Hsieh 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 on Centre Court. The eighth-seeded pair needed two hours and 23 minutes to overturn an early deficit against the No. 4 seeds and secure the championship. The victory gives Mertens, 29, her fifth Grand Slam doubles title and her second at Wimbledon, adding to her 2021 triumph achieved alongside Hsieh. For Kudermetova, 28, the win marks a maiden major title. The result also prevented Hsieh from adding to her own collection of Grand Slam doubles trophies, which includes the 2024 US Open.
