Turkey's Minister of National Education, Yusuf Tekin, addressed recent discussions regarding the possibility of reducing the mandatory high school education period from four years to two. Tekin stated that if there is public demand, the ministry will evaluate the proposal with relevant departments. In addition, Tekin responded to allegations of irregularities and cheating in the nationwide high school entrance exam (LGS), dismissing claims of leaked exam questions and emphasizing that any proven misconduct would have been addressed. He criticized opposition parties, particularly the CHP, accusing them of using the exam controversy to divert attention from their own scandals. The AK Party's General Secretary, Eyüp Kadir İnan, also condemned the opposition's political disputes over LGS, labeling them as disrespectful to students. Meanwhile, Education-Sen's General President Kemal Irmak accused Minister Tekin of causing suspicion over the exam process.
