Apple TV+ has set 6 August 2025 for the return of its comedy series “Platonic,” starring Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne as long-time friends Will and Sylvia. A trailer released on 17 July shows the pair navigating new mid-life pressures, including work, weddings and the arrival of Will’s new girlfriend, which threatens to upend their 25-year friendship. Season 2 will run for 10 episodes, with the first two instalments dropping on premiere day and the remainder released weekly through 1 October. The season adds Saturday Night Live alumni Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett, along with Milo Manheim, while Luke Macfarlane and Carla Gallo reprise their roles. “Platonic” is co-created, directed and written by Nicholas Stoller and Francesca Delbanco and is produced by Sony Pictures Television in association with Point Grey Pictures. The series was originally conceived as a limited run but was extended following critical reception and strong viewership, according to Rogen.
