The producers of “My Hero Academia” said the superhero series will conclude with an eighth and final television season that premieres on 4 October 2025 at 5:30 p.m. JST on YTV and NTV’s network of stations. Crunchyroll will stream the episodes worldwide outside Asia as they air in Japan. Studio Bones returns to animate the closing chapter, with chief director Kenji Nagasaki, director Naomi Nakayama and script supervisor Yōsuke Kuroda among the key staff reprising their roles. The announcement ends months of speculation about when the long-running adaptation of Kōhei Horikoshi’s hit manga would wrap up. To mark the countdown, the production committee has opened a global “Ultimate Scene Ranking” vote covering 42 heroes and villains from the show’s first seven seasons. Fans may cast one ballot every 24 hours between 15 July and 15 September, and the winning moments will be unveiled on the day the final season premieres.
