Warner Bros. Pictures has begun principal photography in the United Kingdom on “Practical Magic 2,” the sequel to the 1998 romantic-fantasy cult film. Oscar-winning director Susanne Bier is steering the project from a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman—who co-wrote the original—and Georgia Pritchett. Returning stars Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are producing alongside Denise Di Novi. The studio confirmed that two-time Academy Award winner Dianne Wiest and Oscar nominee Stockard Channing will reprise their roles as aunts Jet and Franny Owens, joining Bullock and Kidman’s witch sisters on screen. Joey King, already attached as one of Sally Owens’ daughters, is joined by newly announced cast members Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod; their roles remain under wraps. Filming is taking place at Warner Bros. Leavesden Studios and on U.K. locations. “Practical Magic 2” is slated for worldwide theatrical release on 18 September 2026, nearly three decades after the original, which earned $68.3 million at the global box office before finding a devoted following on home media.
