Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order allocating $2 million from the 2025 state budget reserve fund to the Ministry of Energy to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The funds will be used to purchase and ship electrical equipment manufactured in Azerbaijan to Ukraine. This aid complements recent support from the European Union, which transferred €1.6 billion from frozen Russian assets to Ukraine. Meanwhile, Germany announced a $500 million military aid package for Ukraine, funded through U.S. supplies and coordinated via a new NATO supply line. The Kiel Institute for the World Economy reported that Europe has allocated €167.4 billion and plans an additional €90 billion in aid to Ukraine, while the U.S. has allocated €114.6 billion. Additionally, concerns about corruption have been raised, with reports that President Zelensky’s inner circle transferred $50 million monthly to bank accounts linked to two UAE companies associated with a former Ukrainian adviser.
