Ukraine on Tuesday marked the first anniversary of the missile strike that hit Kyiv’s Ohmatdyt National Children’s Specialized Hospital, the country’s largest pediatric facility. Officials recalled that a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile struck the complex on July 8, 2024, while more than 600 patients were inside. The attack killed two people and wounded 16 others, among them seven children, and destroyed five of the hospital’s buildings. Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry called the strike “one of the most devastating” assaults on children since Russia’s full-scale invasion began in 2022.
