Google has signed a government-wide agreement with the U.S. General Services Administration to deploy a new artificial-intelligence bundle, dubbed “Gemini for Government,” across federal agencies. The package combines Google’s Gemini models with collaboration tools such as NotebookLM and Veo running in a FedRAMP High cloud environment. Under the deal, agencies will pay just $0.47 per year for access to the suite—well below the $1 price charged for competing generative-AI products from OpenAI and Anthropic—making it one of the least-cost federal software offerings on record. The contract runs through 2026 and builds on last year’s arrangement that gave agencies Google Workspace at a 71% discount. GSA said the agreement is part of the OneGov procurement program created under President Donald Trump’s “America AI Action Plan,” which pools federal purchasing power to speed adoption of emerging technologies. Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Josh Gruenbaum called the bundle a “fully integrated AI-ready platform” that will shift staff from routine tasks to higher-value work. Karen Dahut, chief executive of Google Public Sector, said the company and GSA share an “urgency” to make secure, enterprise-grade AI “available today” for civil-service missions. The partnership is expected to serve as a blueprint for other agencies experimenting with AI-driven call centers, help desks and back-office automation.
