Koei Tecmo’s Team Ninja and PlatinumGames have confirmed that Ninja Gaiden 4 will launch worldwide on 21 October 2025 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC, with the standard edition included in Xbox Game Pass on release day. Xbox players can already sample a 120-minute demo through the Insider Program, offering access to the prologue and first chapter. Directors Masakazu Hirayama and Yuji Nakao said the cross-studio partnership was essential to reviving the long-dormant action franchise, blending Team Ninja’s precision combat with PlatinumGames’ flair. The new installment introduces Yakumo as lead protagonist while longtime hero Ryu Hayabusa returns with an upgraded move set. Preview impressions highlight an emphasis on fast, punishing swordplay running at 60 frames per second, real-time weapon switching and the gauge-based Bloodraven form that powers up attacks. The developers said feedback from the public trial will be used to fine-tune balance ahead of launch.
