Nintendo has released an overview trailer for “Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World,” offering the clearest look yet at the upgraded port and its accompanying downloadable content. The video, published on 5 August, confirms improved graphics and higher frame rates on Switch 2 and showcases a host of new features that expand the 2022 platformer. The Star-Crossed World add-on alters existing levels after a meteor crash, unlocking “Starry Stages,” additional paths and fresh collectibles called Starry Coins that can be exchanged at the Gotcha Machine EX. Players can also tackle a tougher boss-rush mode, The Ultimate Cup Z EX, once they reach the Colosseum. Kirby gains three new Mouthful Mode transformations—Spring Mouth, Gear Mouth and Sign Mouth—allowing high rebounds, wall-rolling and slope-sliding attacks, respectively. The downloadable expansion becomes available after completion of the game’s first world and arrives alongside routine performance upgrades for the base game. The Switch 2 Edition and DLC launch globally on 28 August 2025. The full package is priced at about €80 in Europe, while current owners of the original Switch release can buy a digital upgrade pack to access the new content and technical enhancements.
