Former U.S. President Donald Trump said a second summit aimed at addressing Russia’s war in Ukraine will bring together Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, with Trump himself and potentially several European leaders also at the table. Trump’s comments came after his bilateral meeting with Putin in Anchorage, Alaska—Putin’s first visit to U.S. soil despite an International Criminal Court arrest warrant accusing him of war crimes related to the transfer of Ukrainian children. Neither the United States nor Russia is party to the ICC’s Rome Statute. Putin praised Trump’s efforts to halt the conflict and signaled that talks on a new nuclear weapons agreement could be on the agenda. The timing, location and participant list for the proposed follow-up meeting have yet to be finalized.
The next meeting will be between Putin and Zelensky, said Donald Trump. He added that he might also attend that meeting. https://t.co/P7thSupYyP
