Samsung Electronics has expanded its audio line-up with the Galaxy Buds 3 FE, a lower-priced addition to last year’s stem-style Galaxy Buds 3 series. Priced at $149.99 and available in black or gray, the earbuds will reach US stores on 4 September. The Fan Edition model borrows the ‘blade’ design and pinch-and-swipe controls of the Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro but pares cost with a single-driver speaker system. It still offers active noise cancellation, an IP54 rating for dust and water splashes, and battery life of up to 6 hours with ANC on—or 24 hours including the charging case. Disabling ANC extends listening time to 8.5 hours, or 30 hours with recharges from the case. Samsung is pitching the buds as an entry point to its Galaxy AI features. Voice prompts grant access to Google’s Gemini assistant, real-time call translation via the Galaxy AI Interpreter app, and hands-free messaging. Auto Switch continues to let the earbuds hop between the company’s phones, tablets and PCs. At $150, the Galaxy Buds 3 FE undercut Samsung’s Buds 3 Pro ($250) and arrive below Apple’s AirPods 4 with ANC ($179). By pairing premium features such as noise cancellation and AI voice tools with a mid-tier price, Samsung aims to broaden its ecosystem ahead of the key back-to-school and holiday sales periods.
