Profiles linked to Brazil's Workers' Party (PT) have been using artificial intelligence-generated videos to amplify attacks against Hugo Motta, the President of the Chamber of Deputies, and the Congress on social media. A study by consultancy Bites revealed that Motta experienced a peak in social media mentions on July 2, 2025, receiving 20% of all mentions for the year within just two weeks, with most of the activity driven by PT-affiliated influencers. Despite the intensity of the online criticism, Motta's team believes these attacks could strengthen his position among fellow legislators and foster a sense of unity within the Chamber. Motta himself has expressed feeling empowered following his confrontation with the government and has referenced the Congress's arsenal for counterattacks.
