Toronto Police on Monday identified Abdoul Aziz Sarr, 14, as the boy who died after being stabbed inside a McDonald’s near Eastern and Coxwell avenues on the night of July 5. Paramedics were flagged down at about 10:10 p.m. and rushed the teen to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Detectives say the attack was witnessed by large crowds in the Beaches area and are reviewing extensive video footage; no suspect information has been released. Sarr is Toronto’s 19th homicide victim of the year. In an unrelated case, the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office named Tyquan Jones-Alexander, also 14, as the victim of a shooting in Cincinnati’s Avondale neighborhood early on July 7. Police were called to the 600 block of Hutchins Avenue around 1 a.m.; no arrests have been announced and the motive remains unclear. The incident marks Avondale’s ninth shooting of 2025 and the city’s fourth juvenile fatality by gunfire this year.
