An investigation has revealed that the Hongmen Association, a front organization for the 14K triad led by the figure known as "Broken Tooth," is deeply intertwined with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Despite facing sanctions and investigations for fraud, bribery, and money laundering, the Hongmen network continues to expand and actively supports Beijing's political objectives abroad. This alliance exemplifies how the CCP leverages transnational organized crime to extend its influence and pursue foreign policy goals. Separately, reports have uncovered a widespread presence of illegal Chinese drug operations in rural Maine, including over 270 illicit marijuana cultivation sites. These operations are linked to the Chinese mafia and involve the acquisition of various local properties such as schools, churches, recycling plants, nursing homes, flight hangars, and old mills. Allegations have surfaced implicating local figures, including former Maine gubernatorial candidate and master electrician Jay Martin Vachon, who reportedly facilitates the maintenance of these drug houses. Additionally, one of the largest human trafficking and drug operations was found operating near the Eastport Port Authority and US Customs in Maine. Key individuals involved in these criminal enterprises include John Wu and Jason Tsat, with the latter described as a CCP organ harvester turned drug lord. These developments highlight the extensive reach of Chinese organized crime both internationally and within the United States.
