Colombian authorities have discovered a mass grave containing the bodies of eight social and religious leaders in a rural area of Calamar, Guaviare. The victims, who were part of a Christian community originally from Arauca, were reportedly kidnapped and killed by dissident factions of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), specifically those led by alias Iván Mordisco. The discovery followed an investigation initiated after a denunciation and was aided by evidence found on a confiscated cellphone. The Attorney General's Office is advancing in the identification of the victims and continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the killings. Separately, Colombia has experienced ongoing violence, including a car bomb explosion near a police station in Patía, Cauca, resulting in one woman dead and three police officers injured. Additionally, an attack involving an explosive-laden mule attributed to the National Liberation Army (ELN) in Valdivia, Antioquia, killed one military officer and wounded two soldiers.
