Two San Francisco men have been charged after an argument over Pokémon trading cards turned violent outside a GameStop in Colma, California. Investigators say Miguel Angel Flores, 49, was first in line for a restock of the cards on the morning of July 5 when relatives and 27-year-old Isaiah Calles joined him at the front, provoking a confrontation with another customer who had been waiting fifth in line. According to police and court filings, Flores struck the customer on the back of the head with a glass mason jar. Calles allegedly grabbed a shard from the shattered jar and stabbed the victim multiple times. The man sustained stab wounds to his back, face and head, along with a cranial injury, collapsed lung and potential partial vision loss, but is now listed in stable condition at San Francisco General Hospital. Flores and Calles fled in separate vehicles but were arrested shortly after. Prosecutors have charged both with assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury, aggravated battery with serious bodily injury and conspiracy. At their July 9 arraignment in San Mateo County Superior Court, the pair pleaded not guilty; bail was set at $25,000 for Calles and $10,000 for Flores. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 13.
