The Indian National Congress on 17 July named former state minister Amit Chavda as President of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee, replacing Shaktisinh Gohil with immediate effect, according to a party statement. The party simultaneously appointed Dr. Tushar Chaudhary, a former Union minister, as Leader of the Congress Legislative Party in the Gujarat Assembly, signalling a broader reshuffle of its state leadership. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also assigned Vamsi Chand Reddy to oversee the selection of District Congress Committee presidents and to gather feedback on their organisational performance.
