Delhi Railway Police said they have broken up an interstate bag-lifting ring that preyed on passengers in air-conditioned coaches at New Delhi and other major stations. Officers arrested four men from Bihar who allegedly posed as businessmen, checked into hotels near the rail terminus and boarded crowded trains to steal luggage. Investigators have linked the group to more than 100 thefts. A search of their rooms led to the recovery of 16 stolen bags along with cash and mobile phones, the police added. Authorities have urged travellers to remain vigilant as they work to identify additional victims and accomplices.
