The Israel Defense Forces said it killed Muhammad Jamal Murad, the commander of Hezbollah’s artillery units in the coastal sector of southern Lebanon, in an airstrike on 10 July. The strike hit the Al-Mansouri area, south of the city of Tyre. According to the military, Murad had directed numerous rocket attacks on Israel during the current war and had recently sought to rebuild Hezbollah’s coastal artillery capabilities. The IDF described his removal as a significant operational setback for the Lebanese militia’s rocket forces.
