The Hoy No Circula program, aimed at reducing vehicular emissions and improving air quality in Mexico City (CDMX) and the State of Mexico (Edomex), has expanded to include additional municipalities in Edomex as of July 1, 2025. This expansion aligns the restrictions in Edomex with those in CDMX. The program restricts vehicle circulation based on criteria such as the color of the vehicle's engomado (sticker), license plate termination numbers, and hologram classification. Restrictions apply daily from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Violations can result in fines of up to 3,000 pesos. For example, on July 3, vehicles with green stickers, plate endings 1 and 2, and holograms 1 and 2 were restricted, while on July 4, the restrictions applied to vehicles with blue stickers, plate endings 9 and 0, and holograms 1 and 2. The program continues to be enforced daily, with updated restrictions announced for each day to help drivers avoid penalties. Additionally, vehicle verification schedules for July have been communicated for both CDMX and Edomex.
