Mexican federal authorities have made several arrests targeting organized crime groups across multiple states. In Acapulco, Guerrero, Gustavo Aldair, known as "El Malportado," leader of the criminal group Los Malportados and affiliated with the Cártel Nuevo Imperio, was detained along with four other members. This group is involved in kidnapping, extortion, robbery, and drug trafficking in Mexico City, the State of Mexico, and Morelos. In Sinaloa, Secretary of Security Omar García Harfuch reported the detention of 65 individuals over two weeks, the seizure of 116 weapons, 24,000 cartridges, nine drug laboratories, and nearly 10 tons of narcotics. In Tabasco, authorities captured Arturo Gómez Marín, alias "El Vampiro," identified as the third-in-command of the criminal organization La Barredora, linked to extortion, "cobro de piso" (protection rackets), and homicides; during his arrest, a long firearm and 20 cartridges were seized. Additionally, five members of the group Los Mayos were arrested in Culiacán, Sinaloa, after holding a man associated with Los Chapitos captive; the operation also resulted in the confiscation of high-powered firearms. In Campeche, 25 police officers were dismissed due to allegations of sexual harassment, drug use, and extortion. These actions reflect ongoing federal efforts to combat organized crime and corruption in Mexico.
