This commission, which will convene upon each affiliation request, is tasked with reviewing the backgrounds of prospective members to avoid political damage to Morena. Key figures appointed to this commission include party leaders Luisa Alcalde, Alfonso Durazo, Carolina Rangel, Armando Bartra, and Epigmenio Ibarra. During the Council's session on July 20, 2025, Morena also expressed support for Senator Adán Augusto López Hernández amid allegations concerning his former Secretary of Public Security in Tabasco, Hernán Bermúdez Requena, who is currently a fugitive under investigation for alleged ties to organized crime. López Hernández denied any wrongdoing, describing the accusations as politically motivated and emphasized that investigations are being conducted by Mexico's Attorney General's Office (FGR). Party leaders, including Luisa Alcalde, reiterated that Morena does not protect individuals involved in corruption, signaling a commitment to uphold party principles and accountability. The session also saw calls from Alfonso Durazo to avoid internal fractures within Morena and criticism from Manuel Espino, who compared López Hernández to former President Felipe Calderón in relation to corruption scandals. Notably, some prominent party members, such as Andrés Manuel López Beltrán, Ricardo Monreal, and Sergio Gutiérrez Luna, were absent from the Council meeting.
