Ana Amelí García Gámez, a 19-year-old biology student from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), has been missing since July 12, 2025, after ascending Pico del Águila in the Ajusco mountain area of Mexico City. Authorities including the Mexico City Attorney General's Office, the Search Commission, and the Secretariat of Citizen Security have deployed coordinated search operations involving over 900 personnel in the forested region of the Tlalpan borough. Despite extensive efforts by rescue brigades and support from local communities, no trace of Ana Amelí has been found.
