Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it has arrested six people in Hamadan province on charges of spying for Israel’s Mossad and planning sabotage attacks. Semi-official media added that additional suspects were picked up in Tehran, where security forces recovered explosive-laden drones, timer bombs, grenades, firearms and other munitions. The latest detentions follow the 18 June discovery of an Israeli-made Spike NLOS anti-tank guided missile system in Alborz province, near one of Iran’s air-defence sites. Iranian officials said the missile, found with its command-and-launch unit, had been operated remotely and was linked to the same network now under investigation. Tehran accuses the detainees of plotting large-scale assaults on civilian targets. Israel has not commented on the claims. The episode adds to the long-running shadow conflict between the two countries, which has included sabotage, cyber operations and attacks on military assets inside Iran.
