Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on 16 July condemned Israel’s latest strikes on Damascus, calling the attack “entirely predictable” and urging the international community to unite to halt what he described as unchecked Israeli aggression. In remarks released by the Foreign Ministry, Araghchi said Tehran “supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and will always stand with the Syrian people.” He asked, “Which capital is next?” while accusing Israel of understanding “only one language.” Araghchi’s comments follow reports of Israeli air-strikes inside Syria earlier in the day. No immediate response from Israeli officials was cited in his statement.
