Israel’s military and domestic intelligence agency said they have killed Muhammad Nasr Ali Quneita, a Hamas militant who helped lead the 7 October 2023 assault on Israel and later held British-Israeli civilian Emily Damari hostage in his Gaza City home. The Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet said Quneita, a member of Hamas’ military-intelligence wing and former naval police officer, was targeted in an airstrike carried out on 19 June 2025 in Gaza City. His death was disclosed on 14 July after what the agencies described as verification of forensic and intelligence evidence. Damari was freed earlier this year during a mediated hostage exchange. Israeli officials said the strike on Quneita is part of an ongoing campaign to eliminate militants directly involved in the October 7 kidnappings, while negotiations continue for the release of hostages still held in the Gaza Strip.
For 648 days, Nimrod and so many others have spent their birthdays held in captivity by Iran-backed Hamas terrorists. We cannot let another birthday go by. Bring them all home! https://t.co/4S5kGwKjPt
