U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran provided advance notice before the 23 June missile strike on Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the main regional hub for U.S. Central Command. Speaking this week at the White House alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and in subsequent campaign appearances, Trump said Iranian officials relayed the exact time and coordinates of the attack and even offered to postpone it if Washington preferred. Trump described the warning as a sign of “respect,” adding that it allowed U.S. forces to evacuate the installation. “There was no surprise,” he said, expressing hope that Tehran had “gotten it all out of their system.” The president further claimed Iran launched 14 missiles during the strike and that U.S. air-defence systems intercepted every round, preventing casualties or significant damage. He framed the barrage as retaliation for earlier U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian military and nuclear facilities and said hostilities subsided after a cease-fire took effect on 24 June. The Pentagon has not independently confirmed Trump’s account, and Iranian officials have yet to comment publicly. Al-Udeid, located southwest of Doha, houses about 10,000 American personnel and remains a critical logistics and command site for operations across the Middle East.
