An Israeli man died after a combined stabbing and shooting attack at the Rami Levy supermarket complex near the Gush Etzion junction in the occupied West Bank on 10 July. Emergency service Magen David Adom said the 20-year-old victim was critically wounded at the scene and later succumbed to his injuries. Israel Police and the Israel Defense Forces, who arrived within minutes, shot and killed two Palestinian assailants. At least one other person was treated for injuries, and security forces cordoned off the area while they reviewed surveillance footage and questioned witnesses. The supermarket assault came only hours after a separate incident in which a Palestinian attacker stabbed an IDF soldier during a pre-dawn military operation in the village of Rummanah, northwest of Jenin. The soldier was taken to hospital in moderate condition, and troops killed the assailant on the spot, according to an IDF statement. Thursday’s back-to-back attacks underscored a surge in violence across the West Bank, where Israeli forces say they have stepped up patrols around public venues and road junctions.
