Greta Lee, the actor acclaimed for her performance in the 2023 film “Past Lives,” will make her feature directing debut with a screen adaptation of Monika Kim’s psychological-horror novel “The Eyes Are the Best Part.” Lee will also write the script for Searchlight Pictures, which acquired the project after the book’s strong critical reception and Bram Stoker Award win in June. Production will be led by Matt Jackson and Joanne Lee through Jackson Pictures, with Lulu Wang producing via her banner Local Time alongside Dani Melia. Kim is attached as executive producer. Searchlight’s senior vice president of production Taylor Friedman and creative executive Daniel Yu will oversee development. Casting and a production timetable have not yet been announced.
