Netflix has signed Spanish filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra to a rare multi-year overall agreement covering the development, production and direction of feature films, according to multiple industry reports released Wednesday. The pact follows the breakout performance of Collet-Serra’s 2024 action thriller “Carry-On,” which has generated about 185 million views and now ranks as the streamer’s second most-watched film of all time. Netflix seldom extends broad feature-film deals, underscoring the company’s confidence in the director’s ability to deliver high-volume audiences. The first project under the arrangement is set to be “An Innocent Girl,” a psychological thriller centred on a young woman lured into Washington’s power circles. Collet-Serra, whose previous credits include “Jungle Cruise,” “Black Adam” and several Liam Neeson collaborations, will both direct and produce the forthcoming slate.
