Netflix has released the first trailer for “My Oxford Year,” a romantic drama starring Sofia Carson and Corey Mylchreest and based on Julia Whelan’s best-selling novel of the same name. The film follows Anna, an ambitious American student who arrives at the University of Oxford to pursue a long-held dream and becomes involved with Jamie, a charming local whose secret complicates their growing relationship. Iain Morris directs from a screenplay by Allison Burnett and Melissa Osborne, with Temple Hill Entertainment producing and Carson among the executive producers. “My Oxford Year” will debut globally on Netflix on Aug. 1.
