Singer-songwriter Amanda Shires has detailed her first solo album since her 2023–24 divorce from fellow musician Jason Isbell. Titled “Nobody’s Girl,” the record is scheduled for release on 26 September through ATO Records. Co-written and produced with longtime collaborator Lawrence Rothman, the 12-track set addresses themes of heartbreak, resilience and self-reclamation. Shires introduced the project with the confessional opening song and video “A Way It Goes,” released 15 July. Recording sessions took place in Nashville and Los Angeles with contributors including drummers Fred Eltringham, Julian Dorio and Jay Bellerose, bassist Pino Palladino, and keyboardist Peter Levin. Shires, known for her fiddle work, also played tenor guitar and ukulele on the album. Beginning in September, the Texas-born musician will support pop duo Aly & AJ on a North American theatre trek that winds through Los Angeles, Seattle, Toronto, New York and other major markets in the autumn.
