Nigeria’s Favour Ofili extended her breakthrough season at the ATX Sprint Classic in Texas, clocking a wind-legal personal-best 10.87 seconds in the heats before winning the women’s 100 metres final in 10.78 seconds with a 3.1 m/s tailwind. Gabby Thomas finished second in 10.95 seconds and Kayla White was third in 10.97 seconds. On the men’s side, Ghana’s Ibrahim Fuseini produced a wind-assisted 9.85 seconds (2.4 m/s) to capture the 100 metres. NFL wide receiver Tyreek Hill, racing over the distance for the first time in more than a decade, ran 10.10 seconds in the preliminaries to place fourth in his heat but withdrew from the final and the 200 metres. Lawrence Johnson won Hill’s heat in 10.00 seconds, while Bryce Deadmon took the men’s 400 metres in 44.67 seconds. Away from Austin, Chase Jackson delivered the standout field performance of the day, extending her own U.S. women’s shot-put record to 20.95 metres at the Iron Wood Classic in Rathdrum, Idaho. The throw is the longest by any woman globally since 2013 and surpassed Maggie Ewen’s runner-up effort of 19.69 metres.
