Abdul Sattar Bachani, a senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and former member of the National Assembly, passed away. His death was publicly mourned by prominent PPP figures including Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Faryal Talpur, president of the PPP Women’s Wing and member of the Sindh Assembly. Bachani was laid to rest in Tando Allahyar. Separately, Suryadharma Ali, former Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs from 2009 to 2014 and a notable PPP figure in Indonesia, also died. His funeral took place at the Miftahul Ulum Islamic boarding school in Cikarang Barat, Bekasi Regency, in accordance with his family’s wishes. Nasaruddin Umar, the current Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs, confirmed the burial arrangements. Suryadharma Ali had served as Chairman of the Central Executive Board of PPP and was elected to the Indonesian House of Representatives in 1999.
