Brazilian striker Igor Jesus played his final match for Botafogo in Saturday’s 1–0 loss to Palmeiras at the FIFA Club World Cup, concluding a brief but prolific spell that delivered Libertadores and Brasileirão titles in 2024. Botafogo confirmed the 22-year-old has been sold to Nottingham Forest for €20 million (roughly R$127 million), with additional performance-based bonuses. Jesus will link up with the Premier League side for the 2025/26 season after recording nine goals and one assist in 28 appearances this year, including the decisive strike against Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the tournament.
