SpaceX has demolished the legacy launch infrastructure at Cape Canaveral's Space Launch Complex 37 (SLC-37), previously used by United Launch Alliance (ULA) for Delta IV launches. The demolition, which included the Mobile Service Tower, umbilical tower, and lightning towers, took place on June 12, 2025, clearing the way for SpaceX to build two new Starship launch sites at the location. This site will become SpaceX's ninth launch facility and is planned to support up to 76 Starship launches annually. The transition marks the decommissioning of ULA's pad 37B and the start of a new era for reusable heavy-lift rockets from Florida's Space Coast. Space Launch Delta 45 has provided explanations regarding the demolition and the preparations required before SpaceX can fully take over the site.
