Spain’s Guardia Civil has arrested a 52-year-old teacher in the northern city of Logroño on suspicion of cyber-harassing a 10-year-old girl and coercing her into sending sexually explicit images. Investigators say the man posed online as a child of the same age to gain the victim’s trust before requesting the material. The detention concludes a months-long inquiry codenamed Operation “Teatros,” launched in January after the girl’s parents filed a complaint in Valencia and provided data from her mobile phone. Digital tracing led officers to the suspect, a pedagogue at a La Rioja education centre who routinely works with pupils aged three to eleven and also performs as a children’s entertainer. During a court-authorised search of the suspect’s home, agents seized computer devices that allegedly store numerous files linked to the crime. The case has been transferred to Examining Court No. 8 in Llíria, Valencia, for further forensic analysis and possible charges under Spain’s child-protection statutes.
